Our Story & People

Creador Foundation was established in 2018 as a non-profit working in Malaysia and India. It is the philanthropic arm of Creador and is funded through a share of the profits generated by funds managed by Creador.

Our focus is on enabling people to make informed choices and improve their lives. We identify gaps where new approaches can add value to the existing ecosystem and design solutions around them. Our work is grounded in research and shaped by the people we serve. We focus on building rigorous, practical solutions that can work at scale, using digital platforms, data and increasingly AI to make useful tools and knowledge accessible to many more people. Our aim is not to recreate what already exists, but to contribute where we see an unmet need and build approaches that strengthen the wider ecosystem.

Today, this work spans four programmes across two countries: career guidance and financial capability in Malaysia, financial education for women in India, and a contemporary arts centre opening in Kuala Lumpur later this year.

Our Pillars

Education

We create and support education programmes that are free, sustainable, and scalable. We aim to equip beneficiaries to better decide the trajectory of their lives.

Arts & Culture

We support initiatives that strengthen arts communities across Southeast Asia and collaborate on platforms that celebrate and promote the region's arts and cultural heritage, locally and globally.

Healthcare & Disaster Relief

We believe in good citizenship and respond swiftly to humanitarian needs. We work closely with business networks, government, and non-governmental stakeholders to provide timely aid during crises.

Our Approach

We started in 2018 giving grants. We are now mostly a builder. We design, build and run our own platforms, and we keep running them long after launch.

Prototype and test

We build a working version early and put it in front of real people. What they do with it decides what we build next, and what we stop building.

User-centric

Field research, school surveys and focus groups come before code. Schola began with research into why students were not reaching tertiary education, not with a product idea.

Outcomes at scale

We are not trying to run one small excellent programme. We build things that can reach hundreds of thousands of people, then measure whether they changed anything.
